Brendan Quinlan

Graphic Designer & Concept Artist

I come from a magical land Down Under, at the base of the Blue Mountains in Australia. When I wasn't running away from spiders, I was exploring my passion for art and have been since a very young age. I followed my dreams and here I am today - a graphic designer, illustrator, and concept artist with experience in both traditional and digital mediums. I'm a fast learner and I bring passion and energy to my work and team. My art has been inspired by a variety of sources, from Bob Rafei's concept art on "Jak and Daxter" to the animated series "Kim Possible" and the video games "Kingdom Hearts", "Devil May Cry", and "Assassin's Creed". I also have a passion for Egyptology, gaming, history, movies and comic books. I believe that all these interests help me to create amazing work that stands out from the crowd.

Ubisoft Star Player

The Star Player program is a way to give back to fans who offer their time, expertise and passion to the community. Players from around the world are invited to events like Gamescom and E3 for a VIP experience they couldn't get as a member of the public attending these shows. They are able to feel the excitement of the conferences first-hand, try out new games and content before most others, and meet the people who make the games they love.

Star Players are people who have taken great strides within their communities and created a positive impact on the fan base. This can take many forms; previous Star Players have ranged from fan artists, streamers, cosplayers, board moderators and many more. These are the people who tirelessly create content, help to enrich a game's community and do so in a positive and constructive way. In short, they rock!

Who am I?: CV

My Story...

Everyone has a story to tell.....

I was a Concept Artist for MITA Studios, a start-up game studio, in late 2022. My role was to develop concept art for weapons and characters for the sci-fi battle royale video game “Project MITA.” I was excited to bring new ideas to the team and incorporate feedback into my work. To ensure the designs were realistic, I conducted research and experimented with different approaches. I also worked closely with game developers to make sure all specifications were met. It was a great experience to be part of such a unique project and contribute to the development of the game.
In early 2022, I began working as a Digital Content Creator for Informa Australia (Informa Connect). I was the first person to hold this position, tasked with determining what would make the future better. My responsibilities include recording and editing video for healthcare conferences, administering the Health Box platform, and publishing content on Streamly.
Prior to joining Informa, I worked as a Design and Communications Assistant at ACEL (Australian Council for Educational Leaders). My duties included web design, podcast production, video editing, and designing collateral for the National Conference in 2021. I also created an Interactive Virtual Foyer for the Conference. Additionally, I created a monthly publication called "Resources in Action."
Before this, I worked as a Design and Marketing Intern for Purple Patch Consulting. I was redesigning "the Write CV," a CV writing service. The internship was remote and only lasted three months, ending prematurely due to the Pandemic.
I also did some freelance Graphic Design work, including rebranding a hair salon's logo and creating illustration and character design art commissions. I moderated Assassin's Creed Community Facebook pages such as Oz Initiates Network and Assassin's Guild Australia, which led to me joining the Mentor's Guild and moderating the Ubisoft ANZ Discord server and the Official Assassin's Creed Discord server.
Prior to my internship, I gained work experience at an in-house studio called "the Rabbit hole," which is now known as "the Burrow." I worked on a documentary series campaign for an indigenous Australian community in Walgett, NSW as well as collaborated with Penrith City Council to create a mural for St Marys, NSW and with the NSW Health District to create an onboarding presentation.
I earned my Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) from Western Sydney University. This four-year academic programme specialized in illustration and game design. I learned design theory and abilities such as photography, illustration, web design, UI/UX design, app design, and game design.
Before this, I spent a month in New York for an internship at the Mill, a film production and advertising firm. Before embarking on my design journey, I "fought" my way into university. I was the first member of my family to attend university and had originally planned to study Criminology and Community Justice at UWS College.
However, I decided to find another route to get into university, while working as a bartender in an Irish pub in Penrith, New South Wales. Before this, I graduated from high school in 2014 and worked casually for my father's business "Quinlan Repairs," delivering truck components throughout Western Sydney.
